Senior Dating Tips

If you are retired and have a lot of time on your hands you maybe a bit worried about going out alone in the night, so make a date at lunch time with some sort of activity in the afternoon.

Going out on your first date can be traumatic whether you are fifty + or 20.   .

One purpose of every first date is to decide during the date whether you want a second one.  With that in mind, plan a date that encourages conversation and helps you to get to know each other.

Tailor your first date to include a talk of common interests, mention your hobbies and ask about theirs, this will help establish an immediate conne dencing ction and give a basic understanding to whether you have things in common or not.  .

Arranging a first date with dinner in the evening can bring a hint of intimacy into the relationship which you may not be ready or willing to get involved in at this time.

If the whole idea of dating makes you nervous, consider joining group dating club or participate in a group activity.

Look out for your own interests and be  smart and safe and have an exit strategy.  If you are going out with someone you don’t know know that well, for example if you go to a restaurant check out the nearest exit and do not arrange to go somewhere were it is far out of town and somewhat of a problem to get home from. If you feel uneasy about the person you are going to meet then tell someone that trust who you’re meeting and where you’ll be. If you start to feel uneasy about the person you’re  with then just leave.
